Day, week and calendar views

Which timesheet views your account has, what each one is good at, and why the week grid is not always there.

Last updated 25 July 2026

The Timesheets page does not look the same in every Temponia account, and that is not a personal preference. It follows the company setting for how your team tracks time. Companies on Start & end-times get a calendar and a table. Companies on Duration only get a day list and a week grid.

Inside your own pair of views you can switch freely, and Temponia remembers which one you were last in.

With begin and end times

Calendar

The default. Days are columns, hours run down the side, and every entry is a block whose length you can see. Day and Week at the top left change the span, the arrows and Today move around, and the date in the middle opens a picker.

Multi appears for owners, admins and managers who manage more than one person. It puts several people side by side for the same period, which is the quickest way to see who has filled in what.

Calendar brings your connected Google or Outlook events into the grid, so you can drag a meeting across and turn it into a real entry. See calendar sync.

Table

Table at the top right swaps the calendar for a form and a list. Type from and until, pick the project and task, then select Add; the duration updates while you type. Above the form, a strip of the week gives each day's total and Week total covers all seven.

The table is faster when you are reconstructing a day from memory, and worse when you care about where the gaps are. Calendar view takes you back.

With duration only

Day

A plain list of what you did that day: project, task, note and duration on each line. The chevrons beside a duration step it up or down by your company's minimum time to log and save immediately. New entry adds a line, and Copy previous day shows up while the day is still empty.

The week runs across the top with a total per day, so you can move between days without leaving the view.

Week

Rows are project and task, columns are the days, cells are durations. Type 1:30, or type a decimal in your own number format, or step a cell with the up and down arrow keys. Everything saves as you go, and the header keeps a running Week total, Billable and Billable %.

A cell is read-only in two cases: the entry behind it is locked, or that task has more than one entry on that day. Both are edited in the Day view instead. Notes cannot be typed into the grid at all, which is what the hint below the table means. Copy previous week appears while the week is still empty.

Where is the week grid? It exists only for companies tracking duration only. With begin and end times, a week is the calendar in Week mode: the same seven days, drawn on a clock instead of in a table.

Days you will not see

Every view leaves out the weekdays your company has switched off under Active days, so a Monday to Friday company never gets a Saturday column. Individual non-working days, such as a public holiday, stay visible and appear as a chip on the day instead.

Looking at someone else's timesheet

Owners, admins and managers get a user button in every view. It switches the whole page to another person's timesheet, and everything keeps working the same way, entering and editing included.
